Stella McCartney: Launch Her First Children’s Collection:

Stella McCartney has announced she is launching her own line of children’s wear, creating miniature versions of the designs favored by celebrity mums Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Stella McCartney Kids will launch in early November and will adhere “to the designer’s signature modern aesthetic and ethical values,” a statement said.

McCartney launched her eponymous fashion label in 2001 in a joint venture with Gucci Group. A lifelong vegetarian, she does not use any leather or fur in her designs.

“I wanted to create a desirable, fun, wearable kids collection that was affordable. I feel like all the timeless children’s wear is reserved for the expensive brands and that did not sit well with me,” said the 39-year-old daughter of former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney and his late wife, Linda.

McCartney is currently pregnant with her fourth child with her British publisher husband Alasdhair Willis.
